Q If you had to choose 5 environmental influences to publicize in a campaign aimed at promoting healthy prenatal development, which ones would you choose, and why?
Folic acid or Vitamin B9 (C19H19N7O6) plays important role in foetus development. At least 400 microgram folic acid is required during pregnancy. Folic acid deficiency is linked to abnormalities in foetus (congenital abnormalities) and mother (anaemia, peripheral neuropathy). It helps to prevent preterm birth which is defined as delivery before 37 weeks of gestation. Preterm birth causes respiratory, gastrointestinal, immunological, and central nervous system complications ("What can I do to promote a healthy pregnancy?", 2020).
